Iraqi Kurdish president 'to resign'


(MENAFN) President Massoud Barzani of Iraq Kurdistan will resign, as the fight of the region's independence referendum goes on

Kurds have voted in September for Kurdistan's autonomy, but the central government of Iraq condemns the referendum as illegal.

After Barzani has lost the city of Kirkuk to the central government, he's been receiving calls from enemies in the Kurdistan Region to quit.

The November 1st presidential and parliamentary elections were held off following the start of Kirkuk attack.
