(MENAFN- Jordan Times) AMMAN — The embassy of Turkey in Jordan on Saturday organised a concert featuring the 'Albatros Quartet Band', in commemoration of the 70 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
The musical evening was opened by Turkish Ambassador Murat Karagöz, who narrated the events that cemented the relationship between both countries in 1937 and the formalisation of the bilateral partnership in 1947.
The event, held at the Abdul Hameed Shoman Foundation, attracted over 350 attendees, who enjoyed a diverse repertoire of music from several backgrounds.
The band, formed by Güvenç Daüstün (singer), Îzzet Hiçkalmaz (drums), Elcil Gürel Göçtü (guitar) and Burçin Büke (piano), started out with popular classics such as 'All of me' or 'What a wonderful world', to later move onto a medley of Turkish songs.
Attendees were also able to enjoy a photo exhibition focused on the relations between Jordan and Turkey, with a selection of pictures featuring the most significant moments in the history of the ties between the two countries.
Historical events such as the first meeting between King Abdullah I and Turkey's Prime Minister Mustafa Kamal in 1937 were pictured, telling the story of the bilateral relationship in pictures up to the last meeting between His Majesty King Abdullah II and Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan this year.
