Qatar condemns Israel's new settlement move
(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Qatar condemned yesterday the Israeli government's decision to establish a new settlement unit in the area of Qalandia Airport, in the northwest of occupied Jerusalem. The Foreign Ministry said in a statement that the step is a violation of the rights of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state on the 1967 borders with Jerusalem as its capital. The implementation of the decision would undermine international efforts for the two-state solution, it said. The statement called on the international community to assume their responsibility towards Israel by ending its settlement policy in occupied Palestinian territories.
