Iraq's oil export capacity increases to 4.6 million bpd

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) BAGHDAD, Oct 29 (KUNA) -- The oil export capacity of Iraq's southern ports rose to 4.6 million barrels per day (bpd), said Iraqi Oil Minister Jabbar Al-Luaibi on Sunday.

The levels, described as "unprecedented," were reached after Iraq added a new single point mooring with an additional export capacity of 900,000 bpd, the minister said in a statement.

The ministry is continuing its projects to increase export and storage capacities and develop export ports.

The increase to this rate does not necessarily mean that Iraq will export these quantities now, he added. (end) ahh.aah.ss
