Doha: The National Day celebrations will start on December 9 at the Darb AlSaai and will last till December 20. On the National Day, December 18, there will be special events organized at the Corniche.
This was announced by the Qatar Cultural and Heritage Events Center, which falls under the Ministry of Culture and Sports.
The motto of the Qatar National Day 2017 is inspired by a quote of the Emir H H Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani, which translates into Promise of Prosperity and Glory.
The vision of the National Day focuses on the factors of building nations and their success, namely "promoting loyalty, unity and pride in national identity"
The Minister of Culture and Sports H E Salah bin Ghanem Al Ali was present at the event organized to brief about the preparations of this year's national day.
In 2016, Qatar had decided to cancel National Day celebrations in solidarity with the people of Aleppo.
