Iceland election: Ruling party to be in the lead

(MENAFN) After the scandal of a pedophile overthrew the coalition, Iceland's chief centre-right party appears to be prepared to stay in the prime in a snap election. Prime Minister Bjarni Benediktsson's Independence Party is in the lead of the Left-Green Movement as votes are calculated, regardless of major losses.

However, it was yet to apparent who would get an authorization to form a government, as other coalition parties are losing ground. It also doesn't help when voters' doubts are all over the place during Iceland's second snap election in a year.

Following the scandal of Mr. Benediktsson's father when it became known that he had composed a letter stating that the pedophile should have his "honor restored", the string that brought down the government was erupted.
