Former President Obama intends to serve his jury duty


(MENAFN) According to a court official, former US President Obama has been send for jury duty and is to be serving in the state of Illinois. Even though no details have been made public, but he is estimated next month to show up in Cook County.

Former President Obama, who owns a property in Washington DC as well as in Chicago, might be charged for civil or criminal cases. Post departing the White House, former presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush have been called for jury selection as well.

Obama has occupied a position as a civil rights lawyer, as well as a lecturer in the University of Chicago's law school for a period of twelve years prior to joining the Senate. Cook County Chief Judge Timothy Evans also said that "he made it crystal-clear to me through his representative that he would carry out his public duty as a citizen and resident of this community."
