Qatar Foundation organises breast cancer awareness campaign

Doha: Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF) has organized the Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign at the Oxygen Park in the Education City.

The event, organized in cooperation with the Qatar Cancer Society, was attended by a large number of citizens and residents from all over Qatar.

Participants dressed in pink, the symbol of global breast cancer awareness, and demonstrated solidarity with women with the disease by using the Qatar Foundation's #ECwearspink label on social media.

The organizers highlighted the main causes of breast cancer and emphasized the importance of early detection as the key to successful treatment.

In this regard, Head of Community Development at QF Masha'el Al Nuaimi, explained October is the month of awareness of this disease, pointing out that it aims to raise awareness among the community.

She expressed her happiness with the large number of participants in the march, wearing different degrees of pink, to express solidarity with women with breast cancer around the world.

According to the Qatar Cancer Society, breast cancer is the most common type of cancer among women. Early detection of this cancer provides a cure rate of 98 percent.

A number of organizations in Qatar are organizing nationwide campaigns to raise funds for medical research, prevention, early diagnosis and treatment in the context of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The Qatar Cancer Society will join Weill Cornell Medical in Qatar to organize an awareness campaign and fundraising on Sunday at the Education City Student Center.
