Initiative to collect children's hair for young cancer patients

(MENAFN)An initiative in Amman will start a hair donation campaign across Amman next week, in order to give hope and happiness in the hearts of child cancer patients by providing them with natural hair wigs, according to the founder of the initiative Nihad Dabbas.

Hareer initiative will collect hair donations from children who are willing to help cancer patients dealing with hair loss, as a side effect of chemotherapy, Dabbas told The Jordan Times over the phone.

Hareer initiative, "Silk" in Arabic, aims to donate hair wings to young patients as "hair means a lot to young children, whether they are girls or boys," said Dabbas, who has a hair salon in Amman.

Dabbas said that the initiative started two months ago, in collaboration with the Friends of Cancer Patients society (FCP), addressing that "hair donation events" will take place in different malls across Amman, encouraging children to donate some of their hair, telling them how important it is, and how happy cancer patients will become because of this pleasant gesture.
