The Ministry of Interior has tips on its official account facebook advising people to take care of their children during swimming especially in the pools of residential compounds or in public clubs.
It also added on its official Facebook account that 'not taking safety precautions is considered as one of reasons of children's drowning accidents in the swimming pools in the residential compounds.
The Ministry has recommended people the following safety guidelines to avoid drowning or falling accidents including not to leave children in swimming pools alone without supervision.
Also we should tell children that not to run or play in the areas around the swimming pools because they are often wet and exposed to the risk of sliding and falling. Children have to wear life jackets as well.
The safety measures also include swimming pool barriers of at least four feet from all sides and a gate lock so children cannot open them easily. If the swimming pool is above the ground, the stairs must be removed around it after use.
