ICT minister launches WEF 'Internet for all' project

(MENAFN- Jordan Times) AMMAN — ICT Minister Majd Shweikeh on Thursday said that citizens' awareness and the Kingdom's readiness for infrastructure are the main components in implementing the "Internet for all" project, which was launched during the World Economic Forum in May.

In her remarks during the inauguration of the first project's workshop, implemented by the ministry in cooperation with WEF and other partners, Shweikeh said that the Internet penetration in the Kingdom reached 87 per cent by the end of the third quarter of 2016.

She noted that Jordan is witnessing rapid technological developments and has a wide coverage of the Internet, noting that this contributed to digitalising the economy, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
