Donor arrest delays a most awaited kidney transplant

(MENAFN) A kidney transplant that is supposed to restore health and normal lifestyle for the 2 year old Georgia boy who was born without kidney was abruptly postponed due to the arrest of his donor, the boy's father last month.

One day prior to the A.J.'s surgery, on October 2nd, his father Anthony Dickerson was discharged from jail. Nevertheless, the boy's destiny is still in an undetermined state as a result of a red tape between police and the hospital.

Carmellia Burgess, the boy's mother, was devastated while telling the press "he's only 2, he don't deserve this, we've been waiting for so long for this, and we were right at the front door."
