UN affirms commitment to supporting Jordan's development goals


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Oct. 25 (Petra)--UN Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator in Jordan Anders Pedersen affirmed the UN's commitment to supporting Jordan's development goals.

During a press conference in Amman on the occasion of the United Nations Day, Pedersen praised partnership between Jordan and the UN as well as efforts to achieve development goals.

He also highlighted the existing coordination between the UN and the government to coordinate activities in the Kingdom.

Jordan, the UN official said, dealt in an excellent manner with regional crises, especially the Syrian crisis and received Syrian refugees and provided them with services, urging the international community to continue its support to the Kingdom.

During the press conference representatives of various UN agencies including FAO, UNDP, UNFPA and UNESCO also spoke about cooperation with Jordan and progress made in achieving development goals.
