Kuwait Cabinet Min. says no plans to resign

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, Oct 24 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs and Acting Information Minister Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah Al-Sabah said Tuesday he would not resign nor asked to be dismissed, after 10 MPs filed a no-confidence motion against him.

"I will keep on doing my job and will not resign nor asked to be dismissed," Sheikh Mohammad told reporters when asked to comment about the no-confidence motion.

"I am honored to be at the service of His Highness the Amir from any position, be it a ministerial or not, but I have no intention to resign," he added.

Parliament speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim announced earlier that 10 MPs submitted a no-confidence motion against Sheikh Mohammad, at end of a day-long interpellation.

He said the 10 MPs were: Shuaib Al-Muwaizri, Waleed Al-Tabtabae, Mohammad Al-Mutair, Abdullah Al-Roumi, Hamdan Al-Azmi, Mubarak Al-Hajraf, Thamer Al-Dhefeeri, Al-Adsani, Jamaan Al-Herbesh and Omar Al-Tabtabae.

Al-Ghanim said the parliament would discuss the request seven days after its submission, in line with Article 102 of Constitution and article 144 of the bylaw.

Voting on the request, he added, would take place on November 1. (pickup previous) jy.ns.bs
