Niya Yoga, the yoga studio and holistic healing centre founded by Jawaher Al Fardan, is bringing Breast Cancer Awareness to Qatar by going Pink this October.
Niya Yoga is holding a number of ladies-only events that will raise funds for the Breast Cancer Awareness Association in Qatar, whilst highlighting the positive impact that coming together as a community can have upon people's lives.
On October 21, Niya Yoga held a special Yin Yoga with Live Music event.
During this 90 minute class, students moved through slow, meditative yoga poses, accompanied by a live violin performance by two members of the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra. Attendees were gifted with pink accessories by Lululemon and connected together afterwards, sharing stories as they enjoyed pink vegan cakes.
Niya organised Qatar's first ever Yoga Supper Club club yesterday.
Students came together for an uplifting 75 minute yoga class, before moving next door to Evergreen Organics, the café also founded by Al Fardan, to share a delicious three course vegan meal.
On 29 October, the studio will hold a joyful Bollywood Dance class, led by Priyanka.
Bollywood Dance from India combines all the traditional, folk and popular dance forms from this magic country with other modern dance styles. To further their efforts, this month Niya Yoga is donating the entire proceeds from their weekly Community Class to Breast Cancer Awareness in Qatar.
Al Fardan said: 'I founded Niya Yoga with the intention of serving the community in Qatar. Breast Cancer is the most prevalent form of cancer among women, and I hope that through these events, we raise awareness about the disease and provide support to those who have suffered through it. Niya Yoga is the first Qatari owned yoga studio in the world.
Located in picturesque Qanat Quartier, the studio offers over 45 group classes per week as well as one-to-one tuition, where students can work with a dedicated instructor to build strength and flexibility.
