QOC secretary general lauds beach volleyball team achievements


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) The Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) secretary general Jassim Rashid al-Boenin has applauded the glorious achievements of Qatar' Beach Volleyball team who won 2017 Asia Pacific Beach Volleyball Championship in South Sumatra, Indonesia and AVC Volleyball Tour Grand Front Osaka Open titles.
At a meeting held yesterday with the Qatar Volleyball Association (QVA) president Ali Ghanem al-Kuwari and QVA board members, the QOC Secretary General praised beach volleyball team's recent results and received a brief presentation on QVA's vision and plan for the upcoming period.
The secretary general visited the QVA sport facilities to ensure its compliance with the Qatar Olympic Committee's new strategy. He appreciated the QVA effort to securing further progress and development for the game in the country.
Al Boenin has also confirmed the QOC's commitment to provide the QVA with all logistics services and moral support could help the federation to achieve its ambitions and goals.

Qatar handball team readyfor Asian Championship
Qatar's senior handball team has started their training sessions yesterday for the preparation of the 18th Asian Handball Championship to be staged in South Korea in January. The event will serve as a qualification tournament for the 2019 IHF World Handball Championship.
Qatar's head coach Valero Rivera has selected 20 players for the training sessions including Belal Fatnasi, Mustafa al-Karad. Abdullah al-Karbi, Rashid Youssef, Zainadin Bu Menjel, Anis Zouaoui, Abdulrazzaq Murad, Rafael Capte, Abdulrahman Tariq, Danijel Saric, Ahmad Madadi, Wajdi Sinen, Feras al-Shayeb, Ali Hamad, Belal Lebeinka, Mohamed Saeed, Mustafa Amir, Marawan Sasi, Hadi Hamdoun and Hossam Romman. Qatar is placed in Group D alongside Saudi Arabia, China and New Zealand.

Qatar futsal team to kick off Asian qualifiers against Jordan
Qatar futsal team is set to face Jordan in the Asian qualifiers, which will be held in Bangkok on November 10.Qatar will face Lebanon in the second game on November 12. The other teams in the Qatar group is Lebanon and Jordan. Qatari team played two friendly matches against Malaysia recently. Qatar will also hold a camp in Thailand from October 28. Iran is the defending champion.
