Firm penalties to be forced on traffic offenders in Kuwait

(MENAFN) Visualizing a safer driving culture, Kuwaiti authorities will strengthen penalties for road violations hoping for citizens to abide the law.

Offenses like using mobile phones while driving will cause drivers' cars to be detained for two months, as well as not wearing seatbelts.

Moreover, all cars parked on sidewalks or in no-parking areas or blocking traffic will be towed away and kept by the authorities for two months, Kuwaiti daily Al Jareeda reported on Tuesday.

Kuwait has stepped up awareness campaigns in a bid to make driving safer in the country and prevent road violations.
