(MENAFN- KNN India) Delay in Proposed Industrial Township Authority impacting industries in Mysuru: MIA
New Delhi, Oct 23 (KNN) With the industrial sector comprising of a fair share of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), time and again raising demand for the industrial township and the State government authorities assuring by having it on the budget last year, the sector is yet to see any positive steps towards the setting up of the proposal, Mysore Industries Association (MIA) informed.
Suresh Kumar Jain, Secretary of the Mysore Industries Association (MIA) said that despite the Department of industries and Commerce asking the local bodies to issue a NOC in order to initiate the project, the authorities have been ignoring the instructions.
Explaining further, Jain said that the local bodies including the Mysore City Corporation is supposed to issue the NoC for other authorities to give the necessary clearances, but the delay by these local bodies are causing a great deal of anxiety in the industrial sector of the region.
Explaining the probable reasons behind the delay, Jain informed that this could be because of the fear in the local bodies regarding the shifting of the source of revenue.
According to the township notification, the notification of Industrial Township Authority will take the entire industrial layout, including Hootagalli, Metagalli, Belawadi, among others out of the purview of the local bodies, once given clearance a new authority would be given charge to collect taxes.
This could be one of the reasons as to why the local bodies are heistating to pass on the clearance formalities.
The concern was raised by different stakehodler during a metting with the State Minsiter for Small Scale Industries Geetha Mahadev Prasad in Mysuru recently. (KNN/DA)
