Registration for the fourth edition of 'Esfari Qatar Championship for Falcons 2017 starts this evening at Al Gannas Association headquarters, the association announced yesterday.
The registration, which will continue until Wednesday at Katara Building 33, is open to all Qatari falconers to compete at the tournament slated to begin on November 1 at Al Thikheera moorlands, said Khalid bin Saeed Al Sulaiti, Head of the Championship.
A total of QR255,000 will be given away to the winners. First prize winner will go home with QR35,000, while the second will wins QR25,000 and the third position will bag QR15,000, added Al Sulaiti.
The word 'Esfari represents the beginning of the hunting season, during which alconers prepare during this period to hunt small birds and pigeons. Al Gannas was founded in 2008 as a cultural association for hunters dedicated to promoting traditional Arabic hunting. The association represents Arab hunters in international and regional contests, organising events and providing support.
