(MENAFN- Pajhwok Afghan News) (Pajhwok): Jabha-i-Melli Nawin political party leader Anwarul Haq Ahadi on Sunday once again accused the government of having no intention to conduct free and fair elections to the and district councils next year.
Ahadi, a former finance minister, told reporters in Kabul the government was not sincere in conducting transparent election and had been trying to ensure their own interests were served in the upcoming polls.
'The unity government is yet to recognize the importance of time. If this situation persists, problems in election would remain for another decade,' he said.
He welcomed the dismissal of the Independent Election Commission () secretary and said his party hoped more changes would come to the election bodies.
He said members of the election commission should have the trust of every party, not only the president.
President Ashraf Ghani on Saturday dismissed Mohammad Warimach, the Independent Election Commission () secretary.
Waraimcah's dismissal came during a joint meeting of IEC members and international partners supporting the Afghan election process at the Presidential Place in Kabul.
Warimach was sacked three weeks after he wrote on his social media account that he was under pressure from some circles.
'Threats to the IEC, personal insults, propaganda campaign and fraud by some circles have started, but my message is preservation of national interest, social justice, professionalism and justice,' he wrote.
Ahadi also criticized the delay in distribution of computerized identity cards and asked the government to restart the process as soon as possible.
