US: fundraiser for victims of hurricanes by previous US presidents
(MENAFN) Barack Obama, George W Bush, Bill Clinton, George HW Bush and Jimmy Carter, the 5 previous presidents of the US, have assembled in a concert in Texas to help this year's victims of hurricanes.
Until now, the fundraiser has collected 31m USD.
Obama said in a pre-recorded message to concertgoers: "As former presidents, we wanted to help our fellow Americans begin to recover".
George W Bush said: "People are hurting down here but as one Texan put it, we've got more love in Texas than water."
President Trump, who was no attended, sent a message before the show started admiring their "wonderful" work and showing his "deep gratitude".
