Oman- MoE officials visit Al Mazaar Entertainment Centre


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- Al Mazaar Entertainment Centre at Barr al Jissah welcomed the representatives from the Ministry of Education to view the centre's facilities, art and sport activities and educational workshops on Tuesday.

The group included senior officials from the Department of Human Resources Development at the Directorate General of Education of the Governorate of Muscat.

The CEO of Barr al Jissah, Firas Matraji, welcomed the officials, guided them on a comprehensive tour of the complex and briefed them on the various facilities modern methods utilised to educate children, using games as a medium to teach problem solving, creativity and cooperative skills.

The ministry representatives praised the design and the diversity of the educational and recreational activities offered by Al Mazaar and highlighted the possible areas of cooperation between the Directorate and the centre, including providing consultation services towards developing school activities by introducing elements of entertainment into the school curriculum.

Dr Ali al Jahwari, Director General of the Directorate General of Education in the Muscat Governorate, said, 'We seek to find the best ways to develop the educational process and enable our students to better understand the information provided to them. There are many global theories that speak about interactive education integrated with recreational activities to achieve the objectives of the educational process in a better way. This is why, we decided on visiting the Al Mazaar Entertainment Centre to see its facilities and activities first hand and discuss how it can help develop school activities.'

Matraji said, 'We were pleased to welcome the MoE to Al Mazaar Centre to better understand the play-based educational methods we incorporate and the underlying potential this approach has. We are optimistic about the possibility of cooperation between the two parties to further develop out of classroom activities for local schools by introducing an element of entertainment to enhance the learning capabilities of student.

'This method has already been adopted by several countries and is considered to be amongst the best forms of educational curricula that exists. We at Al Mazaar are glad to provide consultation on how to best incorporate it locally. We are also delighted to host activities and events organised by the Ministry of Education and its various Directorates at the Al Mazaar Centre.'

Al Mazaar Entertainment Centre combines educational and recreational activities in a family-oriented environment.
