Qatari Royal family freezes accounts of member

(MENAFN) Qatari authorities have frozen the bank accounts of a controversial member of Qatar's royal family Shaikh Abdullah bin Ali Al Thani yesterday over his role in Doha's crises with its neighbors, he said.

Abdullah Al Thani tweeted, "The Qatari regime has honored me by freezing all my bank accounts".

"I wish Qatar... to return to its Gulf brothers as there is no one else to count on" he also tweeted.

Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain and Egypt cut off ties with Qatar on June 5 over its support of extremism as well as backing up their rival Iran.
