CAIRO, 20th October 2017 (WAM) - Juma Mubarak Al Junaibi, UAE Ambassador to Egypt and Permanent Representative to the Arab League, attended today a ceremony hosted by the Egyptian Knowledge Bank and the renowned publishing house Springer Nature, to celebrate launching of the Arabic edition of 'Scientific American' magazine.
The launching was held in presence of Dr. Tariq Shawgi, Egyptian Minister of Technical Education and Training, Dr. Mariam Matar, Founding Chairperson of the UAE Genetic Diseases Association, who was the event's Guest of Honour, and other officials.
In her remarks, Dr. Matar hailed Egypt's notable contribution to the scientific and knowledge scenes in the Arab world. She recounted her personal experience since she started in 2001 to focus on community medicine and through launching the initiative for UAE free from thalassemia by 2012.
