UAE Down Syndrome Association member launches first private project

DUBAI, 20th October, 2017 (WAM) -- Malik Sarhan, Member of the UAE Down Syndrome Association, has become the association's first member to launch his own private project, which is considered a source of inspiration for "People with Determination."

The association stated that Sarhan has opened the door for many others to think in a positive and practical way with regards to lunching related projects, to ensure their effective integration into the labour market.

The project was the result of his family's support, which provided him with greater confidence and enabled him to socialise with all individuals in the society, fulfil his potential, seize his opportunities, and harness his full capabilities, to ensure the success of the project.

The Board of Directors of the UAE Syndrome Association congratulated Malik and his family on the opening his private restaurant.

Dr. Manal Ja'arour, Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Association, praised Malik's family for supporting him and believing in his potential, to develop his skills and provide him with a decent life.

She also emphasised the importance of developing the skills of those with down syndrome and encouraging them, through instilling confidence in their potential.

Nawal Al Haj Nasser, Deputy Chairman of the Association, said, "We feel proud, as Malik is one of the members of the association."

"His family, who now volunteers at the association, have become a source of inspiration for others," she added.
