Saudi Arabian Airlines to resume flights to Baghdad

(MENAFN) Direct flights to Baghdad International Airport will officially be resumed for Saudi Arabian Airlines on October 30.

Led by Saudi Exports Development Authority Chairman Saleh Al-Salmi, a Saudi flight carrying a high-level trade and media delegation has arrived in Baghdad, paving the way for the regular flights to resume between the two neighboring countries.

Saudi Embassy Charge d'Affaires Abdulaziz Al-Shammari earlier said that the number of flights between Saudi and Iraq would top 20 weekly.

Saudi low-cost budget airline Flynas operated the first flight to Baghdad last Wednesday.

The last Saudi flight landed in the Iraqi capital was 27 years ago back in 1990.
