Trump: 'spread of Islamic terror' caused UK crime increase


(MENAFN) In his recent tweets, the US president has related the increased crime record in Britain and Wales to the "spread of radical Islamic terror".

He wrote: "Just out report: 'United Kingdom crime rises 13% annually amid spread of Radical Islamic terror.' not good, we must keep America safe!".

The Office for National Statistics of UK reported a 13% raise in all assaults all over England and Wales.

The report hardly brought up terrorism besides mentioning the recent terrorist attacks in Britain to show its impact on the murder rate.

The tweet was instantly seized by far-right groups and commentators, while other criticized the idea.

Assistant secretary general at the Muslim Council for Britain called the tweet "incompetent".
