Badminton: HS Prannoy advances in Denmark Open

Indian shuttler HS Prannoy continued his winning streak at the 2017 Denmark Open Super Series Premier badminton tournament as he stormed into the quarter-finals.
Prannoy defeated Malaysia's former world number one Lee Chong Wei in the pre-quarter match. Prannoy won 21-17, 11-21, 21-19 in an hour and three minutes.
He will now face top seeded Son Wan-ho of South Korea.
Kidambi joins Prannoy in quarter-finals

Eighth seeded Kidambi Srikanth went past South Korea's Jeon Hyeok Jin in a tough 1 hour and 51 minutes match to grab a place in the quarter-finals. Srikanth won 21-13, 8-21, 21-18 and will face Denmark's Viktor Axelsen next.
Nehwal's easy win in pre-quarters
Women's singles
Saina Nehwal took just 42 minutes to win her second round match and fix a place in the quarter-finals in women's singles event of 2017 Denmark Open.
She defeated Thailand's Nitchaon Jindapol 22-20, 21-13, her seventh win over the Thai player.
The 2012 women's singles winner will now face Japan's fourth seeded Akane Yamaguchi for a place in the final four.
No other Indian player able to go past round one
Fact
Indian doubles specialists continued poor performance in the doubles event as none of the pairs won their round one match. Ashwini Ponnappa, who partnered with N. Sikki Reddy and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy for women's and mixed doubles events respectively, lost in the first round.
