Virender Sehwag's international career lasted for a long 14-years, from 2001 to 2015.
He has played in all the three formats of the game, and was part of the 2007 World T20 and 2011 World Cup winning teams.
Sehwag has 8586 test runs at an average of 49.34, and 8273 ODI runs. Sehwag has scored 38 international centuries.
Batsman with a rare record

Virender Sehwag is one of the two batsmen in the world who has scored 300-plus runs in tests and 200-plus in ODIs. While Chris Gayle is the other batsman, Sehwag was the first to achieve the feat.
Becoming the 'Sultan of Multan'
Test innings
Virender Sehwag became the first Indian cricketer to score a triple ton in tests, when he scored 309 runs against Pakistan in March 2004 at Multan.
What makes this innings more memorable is that he bought up his 300 with a six off the delivery of Saqlain Mushtaq.
Sehwag got nicknamed as the Sultan of Multan for his historic innings.
Only batsman with 100-plus strike rate scoring 300-plus runs
Fact
Sehwag scored 319 runs from 304 balls against South Africa in Chennai in March 2008. This makes him the only batsman with a strike rate of above 100 (104.93) while scoring 300 plus runs.
Second fastest double century in ODI
Details
Virender Sehwag was the second batsman after Sachin Tendulkar to score a double century in the 50-over cricket.
His score of 219 is currently the third best individual score in the ODI cricket after Rohit Sharma and Martin Guptill.
However, Sehwag holds the record of scoring the second fastest double ton in ODIs, as he reached the mark from only 140 deliveries.
