Afghanistan- Daesh to be crushed, Taliban given chance: Khalili


(MENAFN- Pajhwok Afghan News) BAMYAN (Pajhwok): (HPC) chairman Khalil Karimi on Thursday stressed the need for reconciliation and an end to the ongoing conflict and demanded national consensus for durable peace in the country.

Khalili told a gathering in Bamyan City, the capital of central Bamyan province, that the 40-year-old conflict in should come to an end.

He called for developing country-wide consensus on peace so all ethnic groups and tribes could avail their due rights in a peaceful .

'Religious and ethnic confrontation will take us nowhere,' the top peace emissary said, adding Daesh and similar groups would be crushed but the would be given the chance to reconcile.

He said the people of Bamyan were peace-loving and praised their behavior and political maturity. 'You present a clear picture of our modernity on national and international levels.'

He called on the government to stay in touch with the peoples of the central zone and not let the gap between them and the government widen.
