At 9:30pm, police officer stopped the Filipino woman on Rua da Barca and found a packet of what they suspected to be methamphetamine, weighing 0.97 gram, on her.

It is understood the woman spent 1,800 patacas (US$223) to buy 1.5 grams of the drug from a Filipino man at 4am at Praca Ponte Horta. She had consumed some and planned to sell the rest.

Police later took the maid to her place of residence, on Rua da Alegria, and found Luk in the flat. They suspected she had also been taking drugs. They confiscated 0.1 gram of suspected methamphetamine, equipment for drug use and some plastic bags.

The Filipino woman told the police the plastic bags were for packaging the drug into small packets for sale.

After testing, both women came up positive for methamphetamine. They were sent to the public prosecutions office to be charged with drug trafficking, drug abuse and possession of equipment for smoking dangerous drugs.
