Kuwait- Domestic workers firm file sparks query

(MENAFN- Arab Times) KUWAIT CITY, Oct 19: The file of Al-Durra Company for recruiting domestic workers has sparked parliamentary query and Hind Al-Sabeeh, the Minister of Social Affairs and Labor and State Minister for Economic Affairs, is expected to respond aptly at the beginning of the next parliamentary term, reports Al-Qabas daily.

On her Twitter page, MP Safa Al-Hashem stated the company had initially boosted the morale of citizens by declaring intention to reduce the cost of hiring domestic workers and to counter the activities of exploiters, but their current activities indicate the contrary.

She threatened to ensure the minister is held accountable for her action, because she was the one who stopped the domestic bureaus from recruiting workers for middleclass and low income earners. She vowed to open the company's file and raise questions against the minister.
