Lulu and Qatar Cancer Society hold cancer awareness programme

LuLu Group, in association with Qatar Cancer Society (QCS), has conducted a cancer awareness programme. The initiative was held to extend support to the breast cancer awareness campaign ' Let's Fight It Hand By Hand ' .

As part of the programme, all showroom staff of LuLu Hypermarket in all branches throughout this month will continue wearing T-shirts that carry a message spreading awareness on the importance of preventing cancer.

The initiative coincided with breast cancer awareness campaign, which falls on October every year. This provided an opportunity to the public to spread a healthy lifestyle culture as well as awareness on the need to support QCS's program. Omar Al-Twaissi, Marketing Co-ordinator at QCS appreciated the efforts made by LuLu Group in supporting Qatar Cancer Society in the campaign and thanked the LuLu management for the initiative. He also sought the co-operation of all concerned in Qatar in running the campaign to spread awareness about the disease. He added, 'LuLu Group has always been at the forefront of supporting such activities as part of their ongoing corporate social responsibility drive.

Breast Cancer awareness campaign is a great opportunity to spread a healthy culture, especially with the increase in the number of cancer patients, which is considered the most common type of cancer among women and is ranked the first among women around the world. Besides raising awareness, the occasion provides an opportunity to highlight the effective breast cancer-related health services that are readily available in Qatar.
