Qatar- First Mexican Gastronomic Week from October 29

The Embassy of Mexico in collaboration with St. Regis Hotel has announced the first ever Mexican Gastronomic Week to be held in Doha.
Sponsored by Qatar Airways, the event will take place in St Regis' Astor Grill Restaurant from October 29 to November 4, said a statement issued by Embassy of Mexico.
During the gastronomic week guests will be able to enjoy a set menu of traditional Mexican food prepared by renowned Mexican Chef Ana Martorell, every day from 1 to 4 pm and from 6 to 11 pm. On Friday 3rd of November, St Regis famous brunch will offer a special food station offering some of the most traditional Mexican bites.
Since 2010, traditional Mexican cuisine has been listed as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by the Unesco.
As stated by this Organization, our traditional cuisine is a comprehensive cultural model comprising farming, ritual practices, age-old skills, culinary techniques and ancestral community customs and manners.
The Mexican cuisine has given the world: corn, cacao, tomato, avocado, vanilla, and chili, among many other products.
Mexico has been constantly growing its capacity in order to become a global food power. Mexico is the 12th biggest food producer in the world. Our Agrifood exporting revenues are greater than those made from oil or tourism.
Mexico is the 4th exporter worldwide and 1st in Latin America of vegetables, roots and tubers, 1st global producer and exporter of avocados, 1st exporter of mangos and cucumber, 2nd largest exporter and producer of lemons, 2nd largest exporter of tomatoes, and 4th largest producer of berries.
Also Mexico is the 7th largest producer of beef in the world, exporting halal products to the world, including Qatar.
