With Lebanese Executive Sous Chef Mohamed Najdi, these evenings present the epitome of Lebanese culture, celebration and togetherness. 'It's all about the food. Without food there is no celebration,' said Chef Najdi. 'We have put a definite emphasis on home cooking and using traditional methods to prepare the dishes, keeping at the front of our minds that mother-cooking, or the passing down of secrets from generation to generation, translates into every dish.'
These evenings offer a selection of cold and hot mezze, followed by mouth-watering Lebanese grilled kebabs and locally sourced seafood. 'We believe in the provenance of our ingredients,' said Chef Najdi. 'In Lebanon, the smell of the dish is as important as the taste. You must first smell the fresh coriander or the garlic and then savor the first bite, allowing the flavors to bloom on your palate.'
For dessert, guests will be treated to a world of traditional sweets, presented against a backdrop of Oriental tunes from our live entertainment.
These evenings are available to Muscat diners every Thursday at Mokha Café at Grand Hyatt Muscat. 'We want to bring to Muscat the true ambience of Lebanese lifestyle through collaborative dining, music and great service,' said Chef Najdi. 'The flavors and sounds are authentic. We have launched with great success, and the Lebanese community has responded with great praise.'
In addition, those who enjoy post-supper relaxation can enjoy a selection of flavorful shisha, Lebanese arak and select beverages.
