Cabinet approves signing of energy agreement with Qatar
Cabinet has approved the signing of an energy agreement with Qatar later this month.
The agreement is to be signed during President Maithripala Sirisena's official visit to the State of Qatar this month.
Cabinet has also approved two other agreements with Qatar, including one put forward by the Foreign Minister.
President Sirisena is expected to hold discussions with his Qatari counterpart with a view to improving bilateral ties between the two countries.
Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar had visited Sri Lanka in March 2015 at the invitation of President Maithripala Sirisena. (Colombo Gazette)
