More intense e-cigarette smoking ban rules in Dubai


(MENAFN) In a major civic body move leading to better and more healthy community, Dubai Municipality is determined to tighten its ban on electronic cigarette smoking in public places and shopping malls, the ban restricts the usage both indoors and also at the entrances of the malls, state news agency Wam reported.

The move comes following complaints that certain shopping centers are allowing violations of the indoor smoking ban, the so-called electronic cigarettes in particular, and permitting them to smoke at the entrances of shopping centers, a senior official said according to the report.

Director of Public Health and Safety Department in the municipality Redha Salman, said, "Shopping centers and malls have been directed to encourage their security personnel to treat people in a polite manner and to put signs and warnings on the entrances".
