Video: Now, experience -8C at Dubai Garden Glow


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Dubai residents can now enjoy -8C spot at Dubai Garden Glow, which opened to the public on Tuesday.

The Ice Park is now open in the third season of Dubai Garden Glow, which has been designed around the theme of global warming. Dubai's first ice park displays an array of illuminated ice sculptures of the city's major landmarks including Burj Dubai, Burj Khalifa, Dubai Airport and the Abu Dhabi's iconic Sheikh Zayed Mosque. The ice-themed park aims to provide UAE's 'coolest' hangout experience in the desert.

Eng. Juma Al Fuqae, Director of Assets Management Department, said the ice park is in the third zone of Dubai Garden Glow, located at Zaabeel Park, which was added this year along with the Dinosaur Park that inaugurated in 2016.

Visitors can now enjoy a freezing temperatures, over 100animatronics dinosaurs roaring on display and a glow park filled with creative installations made of luminous recycled fabrics and 10 million (energy saving) LED lights.

Besides the normal Dh60 ticket, visitors will also have to pay an extra Dh40 to access the ice park.

"Jackets will be provided for visitors on the spot," said Al Fuqae.

Visitors can also expect an array of other new attractions such as Happy Forest, Candy World and Happiness Street.

Paying tribute to nature, Dubai Garden Glow showcases creative installations designed by over 500 artists from around the world, conveying the message of 'conserving energy, wildlife preservation and reducing wastage'. Its focus this year is on happiness.

Here are some of the cool highlights at the park: - Magical Nights A new concept that will feature giant colorful lanterns, illuminated wild animal sculptures and beautifully crafted objects of art representing nature and it's landscapes.

- Colorful World An imaginary world of color, magic and imagination in this uniquely designed show featuring stunning ambience, beautiful laser effects and a light show.

- Happiness Street Last year Dubai made global news as the 'happiness street' in Dubai - in an effort to support international goals to standardize happiness as a measure of development in the UAE, Dubai Garden Glow is happy to pay a tribute and support this global and iconic act by representing its own happiness street within the park premises.

- My Dubai #MyDubai - the official hashtag for life in Dubai - is one of the most popular hashtags on the internet.

Dubai Garden Glow in one of the most frequently photographed destinations in Dubai, paying tribute to #MyDubai with its very own, vibrant art installation.

- Underwater Wonderland Dubai Garden Glow's re-creation of the wonders under the sea will captivate visitors with a visually delightful and enchanting underwater experience. Children and adults alike will enjoy meeting and making friends with the amazing creatures who live under the sea

- Happy Forest An ode to nature, the forest is an enchanting visual representation of nature and wildlife with sculptures and installations made with recycled fabrics, which drives home a strong message of wildlife conservation.
