Strong winds predicted


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Strong winds and high seas are expected in offshore areas towards the north by this evening, the Qatar Met department has said.
The wind (northwesterly) speed may reach a high of 25 knots during this period, according to the weather report, with the sea level rising to 9ft.
The detailed forecast for offshore areas also says slightly dusty conditions are likely at times.
The Met department has also issued a warning for inshore areas today, noting that poor visibility is expected in some places in the early hours of the day.
Hazy to foggy/misty conditions will prevail at first, followed by a hot day and some clouds, the forecast adds. Visibility, meanwhile, may drop to 2km or less in some places in the early hours of the day.
A maximum temperature of 39C is expected today in Al Khor, followed by 37C in Doha. The minimum, on the other hand, will be 20C in Abu Samra and 28C in Doha.
Yesterday, the maximum and minimum temperatures in Doha were 38C and 28C, respectively.
