Jordan- Philippine forces kill 2 Daesh leaders


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Oct.16 (Petra)-- Two top leaders of the Daesh terrorist group that invaded the southern Philippine city of Marawi have been killed after months of fighting, the county's Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana confirmed early Monday.

The two leaders were named as Isnilon Hapilon, who was declared terror group's emir for southeast Asia, and Omar Maute, a leader of a militant group that had pledged allegiance to Daesh.

Lorenzana said the Philippine army was trying to locate another rebel commander, Malaysian militant leader Mahmud Ahmad. A month ago, the army announced its control over the center of the Daesh supporters to in the southern city of Marawi after bloody battles between the two sides.
