Doha to host Soccerex Asia Forum in December


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Doha is set to play host to Soccerex Asia Forum on December 4 and 5, bringing together a wide selection of sports experts, chairman and directors of international clubs and sports institutions as well as businessmen, economists and sports rights owners.
It will be the second time for Doha to host the event after staging last year's edition of the England-based forum. Nearly 750 participants from 54 countries took part in the previous edition along with 32 exhibiting companies and 150 rights owners.
Over 750 participants and 40 exhibitors are expected in the next edition representing 84 countries and more than 200 cities and government entities. Of all the participants, 63 percent are managers and executives.
Some leading figures have been already confirmed, including Facebook Sport Partnership lead Jerry Newman, Wales national team's head of performance Dr Ryland Morgans, AFC's former head of sports legal services, disciplinary and governance James Kitching, Qatar Players Association head and FIFA Appeals Committee member Salman al-Ansari.
Soccerex chairman Tony Martin is set to give the opening speech of the forum that is scheduled to discuss a number of issues such as clubs and rights holders, commerce and sponsorship, finance and regulation, broadcasting and new media, performance, stadia and major events, and social responsibility.
Over two days at Grand Hyatt Hotel, participants will discuss many aspects of Asian football, including the life cycle and evolution of tournament delivery, the economic management of domestic leagues, ways to maximise the performance and efficiency of players, and the wealth of football clubs and the new world order, the grassroots of football in Asia, the governance of Asian football, and football's ability to create social change in Asia.
