Oman- 44 wilayats compete for MRMWR's sustainable development contest


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- Forty-four wilayats are competing in the Ministry of Regional Municipalities and Water Resources' (MRMWR) 28th competition under the theme, 'Continuous Efforts and Sustainable Development'.

The competition will be held through the month of October. It is held every year as part of the continuous efforts by the ministry and the government's keenness to involve citizens in its various programmes. The winning wilayat will be awarded His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said Cup.

A committee chaired by the undersecretary for Regional Municipalities Affairs in MRMWR has been formed to evaluate the winners.

The committee also has a number of officials from the concerned sectors.

The main goal of the municipal month is to achieve social cooperation between the municipalities and citizens.

The contest is held every year during the month of October to celebrate the National Day of Oman.
