Man jailed over using brother's passport


(MENAFN) A man from Ghana was sentenced to six months jail time after getting caught in Dubai International Airport trying to go to Germany using his brother's French passport.

The 30 year old assistant manager will be deported after finishing his sentence, according to the court order.

Prosecutors accused him of forging a government department seal (the airport's seal) and using another person's unofficial document. He was arrested on May 9 at the Dubai International Airport.

The defendant admitted in the investigation that when he was in Ghana, he decided to go to Germany and wanted his brother's help, "My brother lives in Germany and holds a French passport. I asked him to send his passport to me", he said.
