Airlines stress as Brexit talks reach a dead end

(MENAFN) Airlines are still waiting for clarifications from Britain concerning future flying rights.

Britain will be leaving the EU in March 2019, and as long as it has emphasized aviation as a sector which has to be prioritized in Brexit talks, the slow progress of talks increases the possibility of airlines having to sell tickets without an assurance of an agreement that would permit flights.

One option could be to go back to the previous bilateral agreements that used to direct air traffic rights between Britain and other countries, but they frequently date back to the 40s and 50s and considered very restrictive.

CEO of Virgin Atlantic anticipates a two-sided deal between Britain and USA, as the most vital aspect for the transatlantic transporter, will be solved before Brexit.
