Met office forecasts strong winds today


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Strong winds and high seas are expected in offshore areas today, the Qatar Met department has said.
Northwesterly winds will blow at 12-22 knots, reaching a high of 28 knots in some of these areas at times, according to the weather report.
The detailed forecast for offshore areas also says slightly dusty conditions are likely occasionally, while the sea level may rise to 9ft in some places.
While there is no warning for inshore areas today, the Met department has said it will be hot during the day, with slight dust and some clouds also expected.
The wind speed (northwesterly) may go up to 18 knots in some places by noon.
A maximum temperature of 38C is expected today in Al Khor, followed by 37C in Doha, Mesaieed and Wakrah.
The minimum, on the other hand, will be 23C in Mesaieed and Wakrah, and 28C in Doha.
Yesterday, the maximum in Doha was 37C while the minimum was 30C.
Turayna had the lowest temperature at 23C.
