(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) ANKARA, Oct 14 (KUNA) -- Seven Turkish soldiers were injured on Saturday in an attack by the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in the southeastern province of Siirt, the authorities said.
PKK elements detonated a roadside bomb as a military vehicle was passing by in the Siirt's Sirvan district, a statement from the local governor's office added.
The injured soldiers were rushed to Siirt State Hospital, as security forces combed the area in search of the attackers.
On Wednesday, Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu said they had carried out 68,000 anti-terror operations over the past 12 months, 40,215 against the PKK alone.
The Turkish forces have been launching operations against the PKK east and southeast of the country, in addition to air attacks against the party's posts in northern Iraq, since July 2015. (end) sr.msa
