WASHINGTON, 13th October 2017 (WAM) -- Bahrain's Finance Minister, Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, met yesterday with the Chief Minister of the British Channel Island of Jersey, Senator Ian Gorst, the Bahrain News Agency, BNA, reported.
It said that the two had discussed means of enhancing co-operation in financial and economic fields.
In a comment after the meeting, made available to WAM, Gorst said, "We place great importance on Jersey's positive relationship with the Kingdom of Bahrain, and I was pleased to be able to meet with Sheikh Ahmed to discuss future opportunities for partnership between our jurisdictions."
Their meeting came on the sidelines of the annual meetings in Washington of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund.
Gorst is due to pay an official visit to Bahrain later this year.
