(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Aspire Zone Foundation (AZF), in collaboration with the Qatar Cancer Society (QCS), has opened online registration for the ‘Pink Walk' breast cancer awareness event taking place for the third consecutive year at Aspire Park on October 28.
Female residents of Qatar of all ages are encouraged to participate in the event on October 28, 4-6 pm, at Aspire Park, behind Sugar & Spice restaurant. Registration is free and can be done through the website: www.lifeinaspire.qa.
The event will include a breast cancer awareness seminar presented by the Qatar Cancer Society, a photo opportunity in which attendees will form a ‘Human Ribbon' , followed by a one to 2km walk around Aspire Park.
Forming part of AZF's CSR activities, the ‘ladies only event' aims to encourage participants to embrace a healthier lifestyle and become familiar with both the causes of breast cancer and effective identification methods.
Launched to mark this year's Breast Cancer Awareness Month, civil society organisations across the globe hold activities to promote breast cancer awareness among women and the wider community and raise funds for breast cancer medical research.
'We aim to engage with women at all ages in Qatar to raise their awareness of this serious disease, which causes millions of fatalities across all countries of the world. Raising awareness is a crucial first step in fighting the disease as early detection can increase the success rate of treatment, Al Anoud al-Misnad, acting head of events at AZF, said.
