China is the main target market for the export of Azerbaijani non-oil products, Rufat Mammadov, head of Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO), told a press conference in Baku Oct. 13.

'It is no coincidence that we took part in the HKTDC exhibition of wine products in Hong Kong, and already sent two export missions to China. This year, we will continue this tradition and once again take part in the HKTDC exhibition, which is the largest wine fair in the world, in November,' he said, adding Azerbaijan's stand will be presented at the exhibition, to be attended by 12 companies.

As a result of the measures taken, nine Azerbaijani companies have already signed agreements to export wine to China, according to him.

'We will continue to work in this area. As you know, today China is one of the three largest wine importers, so this is the main target market for exports of Azerbaijani wine,' Mammadov noted.

According to Azerbaijan's State Customs Committee, trade turnover with China amounted to $964.68 million in January-August 2017.
