UAE- Two Gulf nationals injure policeman in attack on Ajman patrol, jailed

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Two Gulf nationals have been sentenced to six months in jail, each, assaulting two police officers on duty.

Ajman Criminal Court, presided by Judge Ali Hassan Khalifa, sentenced two Gulf nationals to a six-month jail term for each after they assaulted two police officers while on duty.

According to police and public prosecution investigation, the police said that while he was on patrol duty along with his colleague, they received a call from the operation room telling them that another patrol requires support in Al Helaiw area.

On arriving at the site and while working on completing legal formalities, an SUV - without a number plate - tried to run them over and hit the car.

They quickly moved to a sandy area to avoid the collision, but the driver attempted to hit them again and injured one of the officers.

The officer received back injuries.

The other officer called for a backup patrol vehicle, which arrested the assailant.
